I want to take partial credit for this party because I gave Emily the idea to do an airplane themed party for Olive. Whenever we are outside (and even when we are inside) she has a super-sense when airplanes are flying over head. Maybe we are all just too distracted and don't even notice the sound of them now but it is adorable how excited she gets about them. But leave it to Emily to be super-ambitious with her planning - she went above and beyond and hosted a blog-tastic birthday party.
Despite the rainy, gray weather, there was a huge turnout at the party. Olive is obviously very popular. We were one of the first to arrive so I got to take some pictures of the awesome decorations.

Lucy and her ever-present snot running down her nose, posing with Olive's gift. She insisted on wearing her Tinkerbell outfit to the party. |
I loved all the little signs Emily put together to coincide with the airplane theme. In the background, you can see that Megumi and her family made the drive down as well as Dasiuke. Her kids are getting so big! |
Baggage Check for all the kids to drop off the gifts with a suitcase prop and everything! |
Baggage Claim for the kids to pick up their goody bags. And do you see that invitation. Seriously. Adorable. |
Loved this little girl's birthday shirt. Maybe she can wear it for one more year. |
The awesome cupcake toppers Emily ordered from Etsy. |
Lucy pretending to be sad... |
But of course, she is really happy to be celebrating Olive's birthday party. We've been talking about it for weeks. |
Emily prepared some great crafts for the kids - decorating foam airplanes with stickers and putting together glider airplanes. |
Lucy was concentrating very hard. |
Auntie Heidi helped out Olive while Jared took pictures and Emily was busy hosting. |
Look at all the loot! It's better than Christmas!! |
Lucy and Marlo were entertained by Brandon having a competition with the gliders to see which one could go farther. |
Ready, set, GO! |
It wouldn't be proper birthday party without a few tears being shed. |
The adorable birthday cake being blown out with a little help from cousin Marlo. |
Getting some "jet fuel" hydration. Lucy loved these little bottles. |
And of course, she loved the cake and ice cream too. |
Olive literally wanted to be a plane. |
The happy family! |
More cousin love from Marlo and Auntie Kim. |
Lucy loving the balloons. |
The pretty mama hostess putting the boys to work cleaning up in the background. |
Cousin Love!! |
So excited!! |
So hard to get a picture with these three girls. |
The girls wanted to get in on the cleaning action too. |
Immediately getting into the goody bag for a pop-pop. |
The crustiest face at the party, |
Auntie Emily is definitely the favorite Aunt. |
Olive sometimes has a hard time sharing her but she did great for her birthday. |
I know these pictures are a little blurry but the look on Olive's face is priceless! |
The girls were looking for a spider in the camera - an idea to get the girls to look towards the camera that kinda backfired... |
As you can see. |
We ended the party just hanging out in Emily's clubhouse and went out for burgers, fries, and shakes at
Sammy's for lunch afterward (cause I had a Groupon there). Decent fries, okay burgers, terrible smoothies. But a great way to end a fun morning.
